Queen Elizabeth I, Charles Dickens, Winston Churchill, Mick Jagger... since my family, the Lyttons, came to Knebworth in 1490, nineteen generations ago, our home has entertained an extraordinary range of guests from all walks of life.

So close to London, and yet nestled in the rolling hills of the English Countryside, Knebworth House is the perfect place for entertaining colleagues, friends, family, loved ones - whether you have just one, or three hundred and seventy-five thousand, as Robbie Williams did!

My wife Martha and I very much hope you will add your name to our illustrious Guest Book and experience some of the magic of this beautiful, historic place. As my great-great-great-grandfather, Edward Bulwer Lytton, painted on the walls on our banqueting hall: "Welcome... to our hearth, where rooted friendships grow."

Knebworth House & Park are accessed direct from the Junction 7 roundabout of the A1(M) motorway at Stevenage South, 29 miles north of London. There are signs on both carriageways of the motorway. Plenty of free parking. If you are using a Sat Nav system use the post code of the Stevenage Novotel at Junction 7 – SG1 2AX – not the Knebworth House post code.

The nearest rail station is Stevenage, two miles Knebworth Park. There is a taxi rank at the station. Non-stop Inter-City and local services run to Stevenage station from London’s Kings Cross station around every 30 minutes.
