Located at the heart of the city, The White Swan is the ideal place to celebrate your big day!

From a wedding breakfast for up to 52 guests in the dining room to a standing reception for 150 across all three floors of the pub, The White Swan is available for exclusive use at weekends to help you to create the perfect romantic event. 

From fabulous food to cocktails; flowers to the cake; live entertainment to a DJ to hooking your own iPOD up to our sound system, we will tailor arrangements to your own plans for your dream day.

The White Swan has been hosting wedding receptions since 2003 and is proud to say that every event has been a tremendous success for their couples and their guests. In part, this is due to careful planning and attention to detail which is paramount to them at all times. They are determined to ensure that your important day will be a resounding success too.

Capacity

For a seated, three course ‘wedding breakfast’, The White Swan can seat 52 people in the Dining Room on the first floor. Alternatively, we can accommodate up to 150 people across both floors for a standing reception with canapés and a buffet. Often we will host a seated ‘wedding breakfast’ in the Dining Room during the afternoon for about 50 people which will then be followed by a party in the pub when up to another 100 guests will arrive for the evening celebrations.

Menus & Wine List

The team at The White Swan can arrange for a seated wedding or buffet reception along with standing canapé and bowl food. If you do decide to have your wedding reception at The White Swan, they will also arrange a menu and wine tasting with you, long in advance of the day.

Entertainment

In terms of music, The White Swan has its own in-house vinyl and CD decks and staff can help arrange a DJ of your choice. There is a small charge for the use of the vinyl decks and  for the CD decks. Alternatively you are welcome to bring your own iPOD or CDs and they can play these through their system. They are happy to discuss other forms of live entertainment with you too, including magicians, comedians, jugglers, fire performers, stilt walkers, live percussionists, harpists, string quartets, and more.

The White Swan team has a fantastic book of contacts and suppliers who they have worked with over the years – if you would like assistant with finding suppliers for your wedding reception – including wedding cake suppliers, florists, photographers, interior decorations, chauffeurs, Routemasters, toastmasters, videographers and more, they can point you in the right direction.
