WWT London Wetland Centre is an idyllic spot to hold any event, from a meeting to a product launch.

The centre is just 10 minutes from Hammersmith but it could be a world away. The combination of beautiful surroundings and central location makes it easily accessible but provides you with space and time to think clearly.

Our 42 hectares of scenic lakes, pools and meadows are unique so close to the heart of London and they are complemented by first rate facilities, good public transport links and free car parking.

We can offer a meeting room for up to 22 people or the Water’s Edge Room for up to 150 seated delegates. We also have a theatre which seats 80 people, a Gallery and a heated, two-storey Observatory. Or we can tailor-make a package to suit you, including catering.

WWT London Wetland Centre is part of the Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust so by holding your event with us you will be directly contributing to our global conservation work.

Location
WWT London Wetland Centre is situated close to central London, on the banks of the River Thames in Barnes. It is easily accessible by private and public transport, just a 10 minute bus ride from Hammersmith Tube station and close to both Barnes and Barnes Bridge stations.

Our address is Queen Elizabeth's Walk, Barnes, London SW13 9WT.

By bus

Hop on the number 283 bus direct to the centre from Hammersmith bus station (stand K).

Alternatively buses 33, 72 and 209 stop nearby (alight at the Red Lion stop, approximately 150 metres walk from the wetland centre). Please note: outside of opening hours (i.e. before 9.30am and after about 5.45pm) the 283 bus terminates nearby in Barnes, rather than coming directly into the centre.

By rail

Barnes rail station is just 25 minutes from Waterloo or 10 minutes from Clapham Junction. It is then a 15 minute walk to the wetland centre (or 5 minutes by buses 72 or 33). You can also alight at Barnes Bridge station then walk through Barnes village (about a 15 minute walk) or catch a 209 bus (alight at the bus stop opposite the Red Lion pub, which is approximately 150 metres from the Centre).

By tube

Hammersmith tube (on the Piccadilly and District & Circle Lines) is the nearest tube station. From here it is just a 10 minute bus ride (see ‘by bus’).

By coach

The centre has parking for nine large coaches. Parking is free for coaches bringing visitors to the centre, but places must be booked in advance. Drivers should note that coaches are not permitted to use Hammersmith Bridge.

By bike

The London Wetland Centre is situated on Sustrans Cycle Route 4, which includes access from the River Thames towpath. Cycling makes for an environmentally friendly and pleasant way to arrive at the centre and in addition to standard cycle racks there are fifty secure bike cages (we strongly recommend that you bring a D lock to secure your bike). Barclays Cycle Hire in London is a self service scheme.

On foot

The centre is easily accessible from the River Thames towpath, situated on the south bank between Hammersmith Bridge and Putney (about 25 minutes walk from either location).

By car

There is ample free parking for visitors arriving by car, although where possible we would encourage our visitors to use more environmentally friendly forms of transport.

The centre is located just off the main A306 which runs from the South Circular at Roehampton (with easy access to the A3) to Hammersmith (just minutes from the A4/M4). Once in Barnes you can follow the brown tourist signs to the centre. The centre is situated outside the London Congestion Charging Zone.

By minicab

If you are travelling to or from the centre by minicab one options is to use Green Tomato Cars. This company uses a fleet of the most viable environmentally friendly cars and offers the service at competitive rates.

By air

Heathrow Airport is approximately one hour from the London Wetland Centre by car or public transport (Piccadilly Line from Heathrow Airport to Hammersmith, then buses as above).
