The Don and sister restaurant, Sign of the Don part of the renowned Bleeding Heart Groupe, have a variety of Private Dining options in some of the City’s finest restored historic dining rooms.
Enjoy fine food, superb wine and an attentive level of warm professional service. Private rooms of capacities from 8 to 52 can be hired throughout the day for both sit downs and standing events.

The two restaurants are linked via the Private Dining areas, therefore spaces can be utilised across the two venues.

Sandeman Room

The stunning brick-lined Sandeman Vaults were the original bottling cellar of the eponymous port and sherry shippers from 1798 for almost two centuries.

Perfect for intimate and atmospheric dinners up to 24 and when combined with the adjoining Sandeman Vault can seat 52 and 60 standing.

The White Room

The main ground floor restaurant, with plentiful natural daylight and striking art, can seat up to 50 guests dining on round tables of 10. Pre drinks can be held in the Wine study, connected to the main dining space.

Wine Study

This secluded private area looks into the restaurant through a stunning glass wall of wine. The perfect setting for those that appreciates a fine bottle. The room seats up to 16 or 20 for an intimate drinks gathering showcasing The Don’s tempting variety of excellent wines.

The Restaurant

With large windows opening onto an intimate courtyard, The Restaurant – the original Drapers Hall, features a tower of wine available from the extensive wine list and original abstract art by the late John Hoyland. Privately booked the restaurant can seat up to 44 dining and 60 for cocktails and canapés.

The Blending Room

This atmospheric vault was the Sandeman Port blending room. With its art décor black and white tiled floor and blue velvet soft furnishings it is both classic and characteristic for an intimate dining experience for up to 35pax.

Tasting Room

The Tasting Room which seats up to 18 is truly unique to London. It sits guarding the historic cellar which once led to the Thames. The wines were shipped in barrels and then rolled up an ancient Roman tunnel which led from the river to these cellars below St Swithins Lane – home to The Don.

When booking the Tasting Room arrangements can be made for guests to visit the restored cellar where our remarkable wine collection is stored.

The Bistro

Part of the main restaurant at the Sign of the Don, the bistro can be privately hired seating up to 60 guests. The décor celebrates the history of Port - with seating made from old Port vats and the ancient metal stencils on the wall celebrate the countless number to which Sandeman bottled & shipped. The Portuguese Cork Floor is decorated with a map of the City in 1798.

The Bistro Vault

For group bookings that do not wish to be completely private, the characterful arch offers a discrete dining area for up to 8 guests.

Corner Bar
