Booth Room

A bright, top-floor room with plenty of character.

Hiring the Booth Room contributes to classes including our Tai Chi for older people.

The handsome Booth Room on the third floor looks out over Great Smith Street towards Westminster Abbey, with glimpses of Westminster Palace's majestic Victoria Tower. This very popular room seats from 24-35 people. There is plenty of natural daylight.

Parker Morris Hall

Large hall for meetings, conferences and events.

Hire this hall to contribute towards activities such as  ballroom dancing for older people.

The Parker Morris Hall is perfect for your AGM, conference, large meeting, lecture and training sessions, with room for up to 200 delegates. This flexible space has high ceilings and a stage that is suitable for presentations. In-house catering and break-out rooms available. The hall also suits events, rehearsals and productions.

Hill Room

A low-cost room for interviews or small meetings.

The Hill room is a bargain for meetings for 2-8 people. Located on the third floor, this discreet room is ideal for interviews, appraisals, counselling,  case work, training or therapy sessions.

This room is named after Octavia Hill, a pioneer of female activism who worked in regeneration, particularly fair housing. She was concerned with the rights (and responsibilities) of people in deprived communities.

Hire the Hill Room to support vital activities at The Abbey Centre such as the GLAD social club for adults with disabilities.

Sancho Room

A bright, quirky room on the third floor.

Hiring the Sancho Room supports activities such as our Shen Chi Do martial arts classes.

The Sancho room is a bright, eaved room on the third floor of the Abbey Centre, with three windows letting in the sunlight. This room is perfect for meetings and training sessions.

A built-in bonus is that your room hire directly supports our dynamic community centre, bringing together and providing opportunities for local children, families and older people from our diverse neighbourhood.

Garret Anderson Room

The arched windows overlook Great Smith Street.

Hire this room and support activities such as music & movement classes for under 5s.

This is one of our most popular rooms, with beautiful arched windows overlooking the red-brick buildings of Great Smith Street. The first-floor Garrett Anderson room is generously proportioned and suits up to 35 delegates. There's an overhead projector and whiteboard, plus colourful limited-edition collagraphs by Mark Spain.
Ashley Cooper Room

A low-cost basement room for no-frills meetings.

Hire this room to support activities such as our club for Spanish and Portuguese older people.

The Ashley Cooper room is located in the basement, with doors opening onto the Abbey Centre's courtyard garden. From late Spring to early Autumn, you can throw open the doors and enjoy the fresh air. There's room to accommodate up to 40 delegates, and the room's ultra-low price makes it a smart choice for no-frills meetings, training or conferences.

The Wash House Annexe

A ground-floor room with a small balcony.

Hiring the Annexe supports activities such as the Bosnian & Herzegovinian supplementary school on Saturdays.

This spacious ground-floor space has doors that open onto a small balcony. Noise levels will be higher during lunchtime as the cafe is right next door.
The Wash House Café

Spacious ground-floor café with a small balcony.

Hiring The Wash House Café enables us to offer our older members subsidised meals and hot drinks.

For large meetings, you can hire the Wash House Café. The café is on the ground floor, with doors opening onto a small balcony. The higher daytime hire fee reflects our cost in closing the café to regular customers. For larger meetings you can hire the café and annexe as one extra-large meeting space.
