Welcome to The Boathouse

An operational club Boathouse  with river frontage and stunning views over the Thames, The Boathouse has nice appeal for wedding celebrations with a more diy, rustic feel. Available for a limited number of dates and with capacity to entertain up to 90 guests inside and 170 guests if you hire a marquee, this "view" with a room can form a delightful, informat backdrop to your big day.

Ibis

The boathouse was sold in November 1915 by The Most Noble Victor Christian William, Ninth Duke of Devonshire  to The Prudential Assurance Company Limited, whose rowing club was called the Ibis Rowing Club – and the boathouse was renamed the Ibis Boat house.

Different stories exist about why they called themselves 'Ibis'. They had a stuffed Ibis on display, but common wisdom remains speculative as to the origins of the name.
